The Sunshine Vitamin

How’s everybody feelin’?

Maybe a little foggy? Fatigued? Catching way more than your fair share of colds?
Vitamin D can help! It’s called the “sunshine vitamin” because your body does use ultraviolet light from the sun to trigger vitamin D synthesis. But unless you live at right about, oh, THE EQUATOR, you simply can’t get all your vitamin D from the sun. A few foods help, like eggs, mushrooms, and cheese, but supplements can be very helpful, too. Vitamin D is fat soluble so it’s best taken with something fatty. It also helps your body absorb calcium, and the older you get, the more important that becomes. It boosts your immune system and reduces inflammation, the source of many chronic diseases.
What’s not to love about Vitamin D?
